What are bridal portraits and why should you book them?

Bridal portraits are a tradition in which the bride has a solo photoshoot, usually wearing her gown and done before the wedding day. I love the idea of doing bridals, but I've never been completely traditional. There are so many fun variants. We went a little unconventional and I couldn't be more excited about the results.

Three reasons to book bridals

  1. Stress reduction: doing bridal portraits before the wedding allows you to focus on capturing beautiful images without the time constraints and pressure of the wedding day.
  2. Creates a relationship with your photographer: getting in front of the camera can be a little nerve racking for most people. Having a day set up with your wedding photographer is an amazing way to get comfortable with not only being in front of the camera, but also with the person behind the camera. Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. Your photographer will be a huge part of that day. Having someone you are comfortable with will be one less stress on you.
  3. Hair and Makeup Trial Run: It is always a good idea to try out your hair and makeup before your big day. Bridal portraits will not only give you a chance to see what you like or don't like, but it'll also show you how your makeup will translate to photos.
